Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Small Round Cutter
  • Metal Tongs
  • Paper Towels
  • Cooling Rack

Ingredients

  • 1 can CANNED BISCUITS
  • 2 cups VEGETABLE OIL
  • 1/2 cup GRANULATED SUGAR
  • 1 tbsp GROUND CINNAMON
  • 1/4 cup POWDERED SUGAR

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Open the can of biscuit dough carefully. Separate each individual biscuit one by one. Lay them flat on a clean surface. Do not press them down too hard.

Step 2:

  • Take your small round dough cutter. Press it into the center of each. Remove the small dough circle from the middle. Save these for donut holes later.

Step 3:

  • Pour the oil into your large pot. Heat the oil to a medium heat. Test the heat with a dough scrap. The oil should bubble around the dough.

Step 4:

  • Drop the donuts into the oil slowly. Do not crowd the frying pot. Fry them for one minute per side. They should look golden brown and puffy.

Step 5:

  • Remove the donuts with your metal tongs. Place them on the paper towels. Let the oil drain for a few seconds. Do not let them get cold.

Step 6:

  • Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Toss the warm donuts in the sugar. Coat every side of the donut well. Serve them while they are fresh.

Notes

  • Use a thick pot for even heat.
  • Keep the oil at a steady temperature.
  • Do not fry too many at once.
  • Use fresh oil for the best taste.
  • Dry the biscuits before frying them.
  • Shake off extra sugar after coating.
  • Try a chocolate dip for variety.
