- 2 large Chicken Breasts
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 4 Brioche Buns
- 4 leaves Fresh Lettuce
- 4 slices Tomato
- 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 cups Vegetable Oil
-
Place the chicken on a flat board. Cut the meat into even pieces. This helps the meat cook at one speed.
-
Put the chicken in a large bowl. Pour the buttermilk over all the meat. Let it soak for twenty minutes now.
-
Mix the flour and spices in a dish. Take the chicken out of the milk. Press the meat into the flour mix.
-
Heat the oil in your frying pan. Make sure the oil is very hot first. Carefully place the chicken into the pan.
-
Fry the chicken for five minutes per side. The outside should look very golden and dark. Place it on a wire rack to cool.
-
Toast your buns in a dry pan. Spread some mayo on the bottom bun. Add the lettuce and the tomato slices.
-
Place the hot chicken on the vegetables. Put the top bun on the very top. Serve the sandwich while it is still hot.
- Use cold buttermilk for the best meat texture.
- Do not crowd the pan while you fry.
- Press the flour firmly onto the wet chicken.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer.
- The chicken should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit inside.
- Toast the buns until they are light brown.
- Add pickles if you want a sour kick.
- Let the chicken rest for two minutes first.
