Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Small Glass Bowl
  • Small Metal Whisk
  • Sharp chef knife
  • Plastic Cutting Board
  • Liquid Measuring Cup
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Large Serving Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb STRAWBERRIES
  • 2 cups PINEAPPLE
  • 1 cup BLUEBERRIES
  • 1 cup GRAPES
  • 2 tbsp HONEY
  • 1 tbsp LIME JUICE
  • 1 tsp POPPY SEEDS

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Wash all your fruit under cool water first. Place the fruit in a clean colander. Let the extra water drain away completely.

Step 2:

  • Pat the fruit dry with a paper towel. Dry fruit helps the dressing stick better. It keeps the salad from being watery.

Step 3:

  • Place the strawberries on your cutting board now. Remove the green tops with your sharp knife. Slice them into small and even halves.

Step 4:

  • Cut the fresh pineapple into bite-sized chunks. Make sure the pieces are easy to eat. Remove the tough core from the middle.

Step 5:

  • Pull the green grapes off their small stems. You can leave the small grapes whole. Slice the large grapes in half carefully.

Step 6:

  • Place all the fruit into your large bowl. Add the blueberries to the mix now. Toss them gently with your large spoon.

Step 7:

  • Grab your small bowl for the dressing. Pour the honey into the bowl slowly. Add the fresh lime juice to the honey.

Step 8:

  • Add the poppy seeds to the liquid mixture. Use your whisk to mix them well. Whisk until the honey is not thick.

Step 9:

  • Pour the dressing over the fresh fruit. Do this slowly to cover all pieces. Make sure no fruit stays dry.

Step 10:

  • Stir the salad with a very light touch. Do not press down on the soft berries. Stop when the fruit looks shiny.

Notes

  • Use ripe fruit for the best flavor possible.
  • Chill the salad for thirty minutes before serving.
  • Add the dressing right before you eat it.
  • Swap lime for lemon for a sharper taste.
  • Add more honey if the fruit is tart.
  • Keep the fruit pieces the same small size.
  • Wash the berries right before you use them.
  • Use a clear bowl to show the colors.
