Instructions
Step 1:
Turn your oven to 375 degrees now. Let it get hot while you work. Line your pans with parchment paper today.
Step 2:
Put the oats in your food processor. Pulse them until they look like flour. Set this oat flour aside for later.
Step 3:
Grab your large mixing bowl right now. Beat the butter and both sugars together. Do this until the mix is fluffy.
Step 4:
Add the eggs and the vanilla next. Mix them in one at a time. The batter should look very smooth now.
Step 5:
Sift the flour and oat flour together. Add the baking soda and baking powder. Do not forget to add the salt.
Step 6:
Slowly mix the dry stuff into wet. Do not overmix the dough at all. Just stir until the white flour fades.
Step 7:
Fold in the chocolate chips with care. Add the grated chocolate bar pieces too. Stir them in by hand with ease.
Step 8:
Roll the dough into small round balls. Place them two inches apart on pans. This gives them space to spread out.
Step 9:
Bake the cookies for ten minutes total. The edges should look slightly golden brown. The middle will still look soft.
Step 10:
Let them sit on the pan first. Wait about five minutes for them to firm. Then move them to a wire rack.
Notes
Use real butter for the very best taste.
Make sure your eggs are at room temperature.
Measure the flour with a light spoon touch.
Do not overbake these cookies in the oven.
Grind the oats until they are very fine.
Use a cookie scoop for even sized balls.
Store the dough in the fridge for flavor.
Add nuts if you like a little crunch.
