Equipment

  • Large Glass Bowl
  • Small Mixing Bowl
  • Sharp chef knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Large Metal Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 head Iceberg Lettuce
  • 1 small Red Onion
  • 10 oz Frozen Peas
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 1 lb Bacon
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 tbsp Sugar

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Place your eggs in the large pot carefully. Do not let them drop or crack. Cover them with two inches of cold water.

Step 2:

  • Turn the stove to high heat now. Bring the water to a rolling boil. This will start the cooking process quickly.

Step 3:

  • Turn off the heat after ten minutes. Let the eggs sit in the hot water. This makes the yolks look very yellow.

Step 4:

  • Chop the iceberg lettuce into small squares. Place the lettuce at bottom of bowl. Press it down to make it flat.

Step 5:

  • Slice the red onions into very thin rings. Place them on top of the lettuce. This adds a beautiful purple color layer.

Step 6:

  • Pour the frozen peas over the onion layer. You do not need to thaw them first. They will thaw slowly in the fridge.

Step 7:

  • Peel and slice your hard boiled eggs. Place the egg slices over the peas. Make sure they cover the whole surface.

Step 8:

  • Mix the mayo and sour cream together. Add the sugar to the small bowl. Stir until the sugar is all gone.

Step 9:

  • Spread the creamy dressing over the egg layer. Use a spoon to smooth it out. Seal the edges of the bowl well.

Step 10:

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the dressing. Then add the crunchy bacon bits on top. Your salad is now ready to chill.

Notes

  • Use extra crispy bacon for the best crunch.
  • Make the salad four hours before serving it.
  • Dry the lettuce well so it stays crisp.
  • Shred your own cheese for a better texture.
  • Use a clear bowl to see the colors.
