Equipment

  • Baking Pan
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Biscuit Cutter
  • Pastry Blender

Ingredients

  • 2 cups BAKING MIX
  • 1/2 cup SOUR CREAM
  • 1/2 cup 7-UP SODA
  • 1/4 cup MELTED BUTTER

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This high heat is very important. It makes the biscuits rise quickly.

Step 2:

  • Melt the butter in your baking pan. You can do this in the oven. Do not let the butter burn.

Step 3:

  • Put the baking mix in a large bowl. Add the sour cream to the mix. Use a fork to combine them.

Step 4:

  • Pour the lemon lime soda into the bowl. Fold it in very gently. Do not overmix the dough.

Step 5:

  • The dough will be very soft and sticky. This is normal for this recipe. Do not worry about the mess.

Step 6:

  • Dust your counter with extra baking mix. Place the dough onto the floured surface. Pat it out with your hands.

Step 7:

  • Cut the dough into nine square pieces. Or use a round cutter for circles. Place them into the buttered pan.

Step 8:

  • Bake the biscuits for fifteen minutes. The tops should be golden brown. Serve them while they are hot.

Notes

Use cold sour cream for the best dough texture.
Do not use diet soda for this specific recipe.
The dough should feel very wet and sticky.
Work quickly so the soda bubbles stay active.
Space the biscuits closely so they rise upward.
Brush the tops with extra butter after baking.
