Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Sharp chef knife
  • Sturdy Cutting Board
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Small Prep Bowls

Ingredients

  • 3 cups HAM
  • 1/2 cup MAYONNAISE
  • 1 tbsp YELLOW MUSTARD
  • 3 tbsp SWEET PICKLE RELISH
  • 2 ribs CELERY
  • 1/4 cup RED ONION
  • 2 large EGGS
  • 1/2 tsp BLACK PEPPER

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the ham

  • Place your cooked ham on the cutting board. Cut it into very small cubes carefully. You want every bite to be even.

Step 2: Chop the vegetables

  • Dice your celery and red onions very fine. Small pieces blend into the dressing much better. Place them in a small bowl for later.

Step 3: Mix the base

  • Add the mayonnaise and mustard to your large bowl. Stir them until the color is totally smooth. This creates your creamy dressing base.

Step 4: Add the flavor

  • Dump the sweet relish and pepper into the bowl. Stir again to distribute the sweetness evenly. This makes the dressing taste amazing.

Step 5: Fold it together

  • Add the ham and chopped vegetables to the bowl. Use your spatula to coat everything in sauce. Stir gently so you do not mash it.

Step 6: Add the eggs

  • Peel your hard-boiled eggs and chop them up. Fold them into the salad at the very end. This keeps the egg pieces nice and chunky.

Notes

Use a food processor for a smoother spread texture.
Always chill the salad for one hour before serving.
Add a splash of pickle juice for extra tang.
Taste the ham before adding any extra table salt.
Swap yellow mustard for Dijon for a deeper flavor.
Use leftovers from a holiday glazed ham for sweetness.
